Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith discussed the early Sunday morning mass shooting that claimed the lives of at least eight children. According to Shreveport police, the eight children ranged between the ages of one and fourteen that were shot and killed on Sunday morning at two separate residences in Louisiana.
According to Chris Bordelon, a spokesman for the Shreveport police department, the gunman opened fire in the domestic shootings, targeting ten persons in total. Following a chase in which the suspect stole a car while from the scene and was pursued by police, the suspected gunman was shot by cops. Although the suspect's identity has not yet been made public, police have stated that he is an adult male. At the crime scenes, which include two residences and a third location, authorities are currently collecting information. According to the police, the suspect was related to some of the youngsters who were shot.
